Collaboration Between Indigenous and Western Scientists Honored as Year’s Outstanding Science Paper

I think this article marks a milestone in the cooperation of indigenous people working with scientists for furthering our understanding of our shared histories. In this case, indigenous wisdom informed scientists that was counter-intuitive. Horses were used by Native Americans before the arrival of Europeans – who were previously thought to be the first to bring them back to the Americas. The evidence presented in this article supports that horses were part of indigenous culture long before European contact. So cool to know that oral traditions have a factual basis confirmed by modern scientific methods. Respect ! Go TEAM !!!
