Yesterday was International Bee Day. And the day before our new research paper has just been published.

I am delighted to shine a spotlight on this new open access paper my colleagues at Washington State University just published in Nature Scientific Reports. Varroa mites are vectoring viruses and have caused - along with other stressors - massive losses to bee hives worldwide. Also, these mites are spreading viruses indirectly or directly to other bee species so wild bees are also being harmed. The WSU research team, led by Dr. Jennifer Han, have evolved a new thermotolerant strain of fungus that parasitizes Varroa mites. Read through as to why this is so important!

Go team! Cheers, Paul
