Psilocybin prevents chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy through mitochondrial trafficking preservation

New research published in Science found that psilocybin prevented chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) in mouse models, a painful and often irreversible side effect of cancer treatment for which there is currently no proven preventive strategy.

Just two doses before chemotherapy protected sensory nerves and prevented pain hypersensitivity, with effects lasting through repeated chemotherapy cycles.
